The Foresight falcon Crystallized with Swarovski elements was part of the Flight of the Falcons, a unique street art concept from Artworks. The falcons were sponsored decorated and displayed throughout Dubai and then auctioned at a high-profile gala event with the funds going to local charities (the sponsors nominate the charity to benefit).

Foresight was chosen as one the charity partners for this initiative. The non-profit organisation took the opportunity to sponsor its own falcon - this means that the falcon was put into the final auction and the entire proceeds came to the charity - helping to find a cure for blindness. We are extremely grateful to the generosity of Le Royal Meridien for their successful bid which will help us fund another step towards finding a cure for hereditary eye disease.

Foresight had a vision to make this falcon the most desirable and valuable falcon of the entire auction. It also had to be relevant to the charity in its artistic representation - helping to fight blindness. Swarovski, the world's leader in cut crystal, has helped to make this a reality by donating crystals of an undisclosed value and their expert advice to crystallize the falcon.
The final result is a priceless and unique artwork of stunning beauty. Even the best photographs do not reflect the breathtaking sparkle of the crystal gracing the 1.8 metre (6 feet) long wing span.
The Swarovski crystals are proven to shine brighter than diamonds which meant that Katy Newitt, Foresight's Chairwoman who is visually impaired, could get a good impression of what the falcon looks like, even though she has tunnel and cloudy vision." "I was moved to tears at my first viewing of the falcon," said Katy, "and I am so honoured that this wonderful piece of art will also help our mission to restore people's sight."
